Prague and the Tatras

Prague...oh Prague. We had such big expectations of you and we were dissapointed. We were told you were the most beautiful, romantic city. We could see the references but we didn't really get it. Your buildings are beautiful and the city is pretty with the river running through you but it seems the secret got out before we got there and it was overwhelmingly full of tourists. Full of people who'd heard what we'd heard. Your streets were over crowded, the 'must see' things were overrated and you were pricey. We had fun anyway, halfway through our tour. Thanks for having us but we probably won't be back.

The dark skys of Prague

A little out of place, but the church looks amazing

Porter please!
This Church, just out side of Prague, is made up of all the town folks bones. Works of art out of skulls, leg bones and anything else thats useful. The cemetery was full.

We are in Slovakia at the moment, in about an hour we are catching a train to Budapest-Hungary for a few days. Hopefully will see our friend Rachel who lives there. And we are both hoping for laundry, massage, pedicures (my feet have cracked for the first time in my life!! waah! Must be getting old) we went for a hike in the Tatras mountains yesterday which was absolutely gorgeous! So beautiful. Apparently the skiing here in winter is cheap, though Lachie thinks perhaps not that good but I think we may be back here for a weekend...today we caught the train to a lake...nothing really special but happy to have a chill day. We have been going pretty hard since we left London, early mornings, not much sleep on trains. No fresh healthy food. So feeling a bit run down and tired. We got a new tour leader in Prague, we call him Scotty for his massively hard to understand accent (Scottish accent that is) the past 3 or four days have been rainy and today it's pretty chilly. Such a relief from heat wave weather! Ciao from Slovakia!xx

We went for a nice walk around this lake up in the mountains. A few friends from our tour.

Thats the path!
Fresh Slovak air..mmmm...

A huge storm had been through and torn half the trees down
Sal's camera phone..trains..nothing better to do!
