Lumpertime

For those of you who know Lachie remotely well, you’ll know that he LOVES the world rally (racing cars such as Evo's and Citroen) luck behold, it is in Germany. Only 2 hours away from where we are staying. Of course it was very necessary to go! So off we went 8am to Trier...it turned out to be a really fun day. Lachie was so happy and had big grins. Jenny had an Australian flag which Lachie waved in the air as the only Aussie in the top 9 went by. Even my heart sang a bit (reluctantly...). In the afternoon we actually went to the town of Trier, which is the oldest town in Germany, did you know? I am continually surprised by how much history there is here and how beautiful it is. Jenny lives in a small town that's pronounced `Lumpertime´ I have no idea how to actually spell it. The area that she lives in is in a very low flat valley and has the mildest temperatures in all of Germany. The area is also known and very famous for its wines, and for the vines grown on very steep hills. It’s been very surprisingly cold. Yesterday it got as cold as 10degrees. Lachie is very happy that I told him to send home all his warm clothes with my brother in Croatia (Lachie brought thermals on this trip...!!!)Yesterday we experienced some really extreme weather-hot and sunny, pouring rain, freezing cold, heavy fog, snow? Or maybe left over heavy hail on the side of the road, rainbows. Last night we went to a party at the local rowing club where I have shared a picture of jenny in full party mode. We are, as always, having a blast. The change in weather is welcome, the same bed for a whole week is heaven and not having to carry around our tickets and passports for safety is lovely!
